Create your first product

After signing in, you arrive in the main Sklads workspace. It has three main panels: «Фильтры», «Результаты», and «Новый товар». A product only needs a name; you may select a brand and category immediately, but they are optional. The draft flow is intentionally quick, and you can return to its settings at any time.

The result is a product card with one variant and a unique SKU. Use a simple fictional example; you do not need real customer data for this guide.

1. Create a product draft

1. In the «Новый товар» panel, enter a clear model name in «Название», for example Wave Bracelet.
2. Optionally select a brand and category. They are not required for a draft.
3. Select «Создать черновик».

Sklads opens the newly created product page. You can complete the draft gradually; it does not have to be ready for sale or export yet.

2. Add a variant

On the product page, find «Добавить вариант».

1. Enter a «Название варианта» when it helps distinguish versions, for example Silver.
2. Enter a unique SKU, for example BRACELET-WAVE-SILVER.
3. Select «Добавить вариант».

The SKU must be unique in your workspace. Latin letters, digits, periods, hyphens, and underscores are allowed. Sklads converts letters to uppercase and normalizes separators.

If a model has several similar versions, do not create every variant from scratch. Copy an existing variant and change only the fields that differ, such as color and SKU. This makes manual product entry considerably faster.

Add variant images

After saving the variant, expand its card and find «Добавить изображения к варианту». Select one or more files or drag them into the upload area, then select «Загрузить очередь товара».

The images are linked to this variant and also appear in the shared product gallery. The image limit applies to the entire product card, including product-level and variant images.

3. Prepare a variant description

To create a quick text draft, enter the variant name or characteristics, then select «Сгенерировать описание» in «Описание варианта». Sklads suggests text but does not save it automatically. Review the result, edit it if necessary, and save the card normally.

Generation helps prepare a draft, but always confirm that the description accurately represents the product before publishing or exporting it.

4. Copy a similar product

Open an active product or draft and select «Копировать товар». Sklads creates a separate draft and leaves the original unchanged.

The copy includes the product card, eligible variants, characteristics, prices, groups, and images. Stock, movements, reservations, and history are not copied. Check the new SKUs: Sklads adds the suffix -COPY to preserve uniqueness.

A copy is always created as a draft, even when the source product is active. This prevents a duplicate from appearing in sales or automated exports before it has been reviewed.

Check the result

The product page should show:

• the product name Wave Bracelet;
• the variant card Silver;
• the line SKU: BRACELET-WAVE-SILVER;
• «Текущий остаток» with a value of 0 when there are no movements yet.

Next, set the initial stock.
